Performing Arts
Bard College offers Bard
Summerscape, Bard Music
Festival, Spiegeltent, and
the American Symphony
Orchestra.
Performing arts....where to begin....From the professional polish of the
ASO to the intimate stage at The Center of Performing Arts at
Rhinebeck, there is a little bit for everyone.

First, Bard College, opens its doors all year long for a variety of
performances and special presentations. Bard SummerScape features
seven weeks of cultural events—opera, dance, theater, operetta, films,
music, cabaret, and more. Highlights of SummerScape 2011 include
Richard Strauss's opera Die Liebe der Danae and the 22nd annual
Bard Music Festival, Sibelius and His World (August 12–14 and 19–21).
This popular summer event is coupled with the Spiegeltent! Enjoy the
tent of mirrors as you dine and dance. An experience like no other- and
just 10 minutes away.

Also, check out the schedules for the
Center for Performing Arts and
the
Cocoon Theatre. Located just 3 miles away, the Center trades a big
stage for intimacy and casualness. With shows year round, the Center
also hosts children's events, workshops, and special events.

The
Rhinebeck Chamber Music Society provides wonderful Sunday
afternoon entertainment just down the block at the Church of the
Messiah. The series runs October through March.
